What is MACDS?

MACDS is a non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political organization incorporated by the laws of the State of Montana.  The purpose of our organization is to stimulate and offer assistance to member agencies in providing high-quality services for all people with disabilities.

MACDS Mission Statement

The purpose of the Montana Association of Independent Disabilities Services is to coordinate resources for Montanans with disabilities and to support member agencies.

We Strive To:

• Coordinate efforts for consolidation and share services, contracts, ideas, and experiences among members.

• Coordinate and cooperate with other professional associations, all related public and voluntary agencies and community and individual groups for the advancement of people with disabilities.

• Provide a forum for unity and common action by the membership, including federal and state legislation, within legal limitations imposed by the non-profit status of the Association and the available financial and time resources.

• Encourage the development of ethical practices by members relating to standards adopted and/or recommended by this Association.

• Encourage development of all programs and services for people with disabilities.

• Provide technical assistance when requested by a member.

• Will, upon specific request and approved by the membership, act as liaison and advocate between its members and various governmental agencies.

• Gather and disseminate information of interest to its members.
